Healing Arts and Pagan Studies - Wisdom Spell

This day honours Hecate, Goddess of Wisdom and Crone Goddess of the Waning Moon. Light a new black candle, and bake a Hecate cake—a round chocolate cake—to represent the dark Moon. As you prepare the cake, repeat this mantra:

Hecate,

Most lovely one,

Beloved grandmother,

Show me a sign.

Pause for a moment at some point to ask what messages come to you as you recite this mantra. Write what comes to you in your magic book,

and use the message to inspire further meditation. When the cake has cooled, leave it for Hecate at a crossroads. This has been the custom

for Hecate worshippers for centuries.
